大湯環状列石のある中通台地は、荒涼とした舌状台地です。

でも、見晴らしが良いので、人々が集まって、いろいろな行事をする場所としては適地です。
Our ancestor built Oyu Stone Circles.
私たちの先祖は、大湯環状列石を造りました。
However, since there was no water retention ability in a plateau, domestic non-commercial water was not able to be obtained.
ところが、台地には保水力が無いため、生活用水を得られませんでした。
Then, we lived around the rocky mountain of the border part of Nakadori plateau.
そこで、私たちは、中通台地の縁辺部の岩山あたりに住んでいました。
